About Brian

Brian represents clients on issues relating to income tax disputes, tax and estate planning, family business succession, shareholder agreements and disputes, amalgamations and other corporate reorganizations, the purchase and sale of corporations or their business and employee buyouts.

LawPRO, the mandatory legal malpractice insurer, for Ontario, frequently retains Brian Nichols to resolve tax problems which arise when other lawyers give tax advice.

Brian is a member of the program committee for the Ontario Tax Conference of the Canadian Tax Foundation. Brian is a frequent contributor of tax-related articles and presentations for Wolters Kluwer, the Canadian Tax Foundation, STEP Canada, the Canadian Bar Association, and others. He has been cited by The Supreme Court of Canada in a leading tax case.

Prior to joining Beitel Tax Law, Brian was Chair of the tax group at a mid-size law. He has been a founding partner of a boutique commercial law firm and practiced at two national law firms.
